Larry Lee Raichart, 69, of rural Roanoke, IN, died Thursday, July 5, 2012, at 3 a.m. at his home.
Mr. Raichart was a 1961 graduate of Columbia City Joint High School. He worked at Conner's Chevrolet in Roanoke and Dana Spicer Axle in Fort Wayne, where he retired after 30 years of service.
He served in the Air National Guard and was a member of American Legion Post 160, Roanoke. He was a member of the Pleasant Chapel United Methodist Church.
He was born on April 1, 1943 in Fort Wayne to Clarence and Altha Simons Raichart. He married Gloria J. Utterback on Aug. 14, 1965. She preceded him in death on June 12, 1978.
Survivors include a son, Kevin Raichart, of Roanoke; a daughter, Candy Raichart, of Roanoke; and a sister, Linda Hollenbaugh, of Roanoke.
Calling will be held Sunday, July 8, 2012, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 9, at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Pleasant Chapel Cemetery, Huntington County.
Preferred memorials are gifts to Pleasant Chapel United Methodist Church.
