S. Priscilla A. Banter, 53, of Van Buren, IN, died Friday evening, July 6, 2012, in Marion General Hospital, Marion, IN.
Mrs. Banter was a life resident of Van Buren. She was a 1978 graduate of Eastbrook High School, and was a veteran of the United States Army, serving for 13 years, including serving in the Gulf War. She was a member of the Marion VFW Post 60. Mrs. Banter volunteered at the VA hospital and St. Martin's in Marion. She had worked at Peyton's, Comfort Inn and H&R Block.
She was the daughter of Joseph and Mary Bowman Banter. Her father, Joseph (Jane) Banter, survives in Hillsburg.
Additional survivors include a son, John K. Banter, of Hartford City; three brothers, Charles (Leslie) Banter, of Jonesboro; Roger (Donita) Banter, of Van Buren; and Richard (Robin) Banter of Hillsburg; and three sisters, Julia (Gary) Banter, of Alexandria; Diana Fritch, of Van Buren; and Tammy (Arnie) Reneer, of St. Paris, OH.
She is also survived by a special friend, Larry Shaw, of Marion.
Calling is Thursday, July 12, 2012, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Ferguson & Glancy Funeral Home, 201 W. Main St., Van Buren. A service will be held Friday, July 13, 2012, at 11 a.m. the funeral home, with Rev. Tim Chambers officiating. Burial will follow at the VA Cemetery in Marion, with military graveside rites being conducted by the Army and Kokomo VFW Post 1152.
