Elizabeth June Earnhart, 95, a resident of Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester, IN, and having family members in Huntington, IN, died Tuesday, July 10, 2012, at Parkview Whitley Hospital.
Mrs. Earnhart, a 1934 graduate of South Whitley High School, was co-owner and operator of South Whitley Florist for 12 years. She continued to work there part time after selling the business. She had previously been employed as cafeteria manager for South Whitley Schools for more than 20 years and with United Telephone Company, in South Whitley, for nine years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of South Whitley and Eastern Star. She had served as a registrar at the old Settlers Festival for more than 20 years.
She was born Oct. 15, 1916, in Noble County to J. Stanley and Mabel Koher Himes. She married Aurel Earnhart on Aug. 28, 1937. Her husband preceded her in death on Mach 2,1988.
Survivors include two daughters, Barbara A. (Stan) Sickafoose, of Columbia City, and Suzanne K. (David) Callahan, of Fort Wayne; two grandchildren, Mark (Christina) Sickafoose, of Katy, TX, and Jennifer (Andy) Rice, of Huntington; and five great-grandchildren.
Calling is Friday, July 13, 2012, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Smith & Sons Miller Chapel, South Whitley. A service will be held at the chapel on Saturday, July 14, 2012, at 10 a.m. Burial will be at the South Whitley Cemetery.
Preferred memorials are gifts to the United Methodist Church of South Whitley.
