Weldon G. Hougendobler

Weldon G. Hougendobler, 74, of New Haven, IN, and having family members in Huntington, IN, died Sunday, Aug. 9, 2009, at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne.

Mr. Hougendobler had worked for Penske Trucking for five years and had previously worked as a mechanic for the bus division of Fort Wayne Community Schools. He was a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church.

He was born Oct. 10, 1934, in Columbia City. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Hougendobler.

Additional survivors include three daughters, Leila (Elden) Brumfield and Darla (Paul) Gooden, both of Fort Wayne, and Della Westrick, of Minnesota; two stepdaughters, Debra S. Raber and Lori L. (Doug) Raber, both of New Haven; a brother, Virgyle Hougendobler, of Huntington; two sisters, Ruth Dickerson, of Fort Wayne, and Elizabeth Leininger, of Ossian; 16 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Calling is Thursday, Aug. 13, 2009, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at D.O. McComb & Sons Foster Park Funeral Home, 6301 Fairfield Ave., Fort Wayne. A service will be held at the funeral home on Fri, Aug. 14, 2009, at 10 a.m., with calling one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne.
