John F. Blessing, 72, of Marion, IN, and having family members in Huntington, IN, died Monday, July 23, 2012.
Mr. Blessing retired from Anaconda, where he worked as a forklift driver for 35 years. He was a member of the Eagles lodges in Kokomo and Marion and served as an inside guard at the Marion lodge.
He was born July 1, 1940, in Fairmount to Deryal and Minnie Blessing. He married Patty L. Walker, who preceded him in death in 2003. He married Judith F. Sprong on Oct. 9, 2004, and she survives.
Additional survivors include two daughters, Rebecca Flynn, of Fairmount, and Angel (Kevin) Adkins, of Gas City; three sons, David (Lynda) Blessing, of Indianapolis; Brian Blessing, of Ohio; and Joshua Blessing, of Huntington; five stepchildren, Robert (Bridget) Carter, of Marion; Dea (Michael) Gallahan, of Amboy; James (Joann) Jones, of Arkansas; and Jason Breeden and Jody Clinch, both of Fairmount; and two brothers, Robert Blessing, of Marion, and Jerry Blessing, of Ohio.
A service was held on Thursday, July 26, 2012, at Armes-Hunt Funeral Home, Fairmount, with Rev. Ben Gray officiating. Interment was at Park Cemetery, Fairmount.
Preferred memorials are gifts to the Kidney Foundation or Eagles Lodge 227 in care of the funeral home.
