Betty M. Baumgardner, 88, of Huntington, IN, died Friday, July 27, 2012, at 12:46 a.m. at The Tipton House, in Huntington.
Mrs. Baumgardner retired from Triad-Utrad. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. She was also an active member of the V.F.W. Post 2689 Auxiliary, and was a member of the drill team.
She was born Sept. 23, 1923, in Whitley County to Arthur and Lois Ferrell Smith. She married Paul Richard "Dick" Baumgardner on July 21, 1946. Mr. Baumgardner preceded her in death on April 26, 2006.
Survivors include two daughters, Vickie (Paul) Swain, of Roanoke, and Debra (Jim) Vodde, of Troy, OH; a sister: Mary Kummer, of Huntington; four grandchildren, Tonya (Trent) Ptak, Tyson (Jill) Biehl, Tara (Shane) Keechle and Brandon Vodde; five stepgrandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and nine stepgreat-great grandchildren.
Calling is Monday, July 30, 2012, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St., Huntington. A funeral service will be Monday, July 30, 2012, at 3 p.m. at the funeral home, with Rev. Robin LaRue officiating. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Roanoke.
