W. Allen 'Stretch' Lewis

W. Allen "Stretch" Lewis, 90, of Warren, IN, died Jan. 13, 2009, at Bluffton Regional Medical Center, Bluffton.
Mr. Lewis had farmed in Salamonie Township all his life, retiring at age 80, and was a member of the Warren First Baptist Church. He had been a resident of Heritage Pointe since July 2008.
He was born June 15, 1918, in Lagro to Dallas and Rose Hazel Bray Lewis. He married Velma Florine Lewis Feb. 14, 1943, in Indiana. His wife preceded him in death.
Additional survivors include two sons, Paul (Judy) Lewis and Mike Lewis, both of Warren; a daughter, Betty (Sammy) Collins, of Batesville, AR; a sister, Georgia Pugh, of Warren; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was held Saturday, Jan. 17, 2009, in the Heritage Pointe chapel, Warren, with Rev. Bob Bothast officiating. Interment was at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, LaFontaine.
Preferred memorials are gifts to the First Baptist Church, 727 N. Wayne St., Warren, IN 46792.
