William E. "Bill" Mann, 86, of Huntington, IN, died Monday, July 30, 2012, at his home.

Mr. Mann graduated from high school in Huntington in 1944. He served as a seaman first class in the United States Navy during World War II and was a decorated veteran of the Asiatic Pacific Campaign. He retired in 1981 from Erie Lackawanna and Conrail after working in the signal department for 31 years.

He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, the United States Land Ship Transportation (LST) Association and the Indiana chapter of LST. He was a 30-year member of Amity Lodge 483 of the Masonic Temple, York Rite in Huntington, Scottish Rite in Fort Wayne, Mizpah Temple of Fort Wayne and American Legion Post 82 in Fort Wayne.

He was born Feb. 6, 1926, in Huntington to Kenneth and Keturah Fox Mann. He married Ethelind Joyce Keller on July 1, 1957, in Huntington. His wife survives.

Additional survivors include two daughters, Nancy J. Mann, of Huntington, and Diann S. Mann-Burdick, of Orlando, FL; a brother, Richard J. (Shirley) Mann, of Huntington; and a grandson, Tyler Wilson Burdick, of Orlando, FL.

There are no calling hours or services. The family will hold a private burial at Beech Grove Cemetery at a later date.
