Gladys M. White, 86, of Columbia City, IN, and a former resident of Huntington County, IN, died Saturday, July 28, 2012, at 2:45 a.m. at Parkview Oaks, Columbia City.
Mrs. White attended Roanoke High School. She had been employed by Dana Corporation for 23 years, retiring in 1986. She was a member of the Columbia City Church of the Nazarene and the Ladies Missionary Group. She was 2012 president of the Oaks Residents' Council.
She was born Aug. 10, 1925, in Huntington to Lewis W. and Louella Hodson Marks. She married Leonard White on March 25, 1944, in Tampa, FL. Her husband preceded her in death.
Survivors include four sons, Alan L. Brenda) White, of Colorado Springs, CO; David N. (Deborah) White, of Warsaw; Tom D. (Sharon) White, of Cromwell; and Michael L. (Wanda) White, of Columbia City; a sister, Evelyn Hawkins, of Columbia City; 13 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Calling is Thursday, Aug.2, 2012, from noon to 2 p.m., with a service following at 2 p.m., at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. Rev. Bradley Fredrickson , of Tri-Lakes Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be at the South Park (Annex) Cemetery, Columbia City.
