Gene Daggett, 51, of Andrews, IN, died Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2012, at 5 p.m. at his home.
Mr. Daggett graduated from Huntington North High School in 1979 and served in the United States Army for three years. He owned and operated the Huggy Bear in Huntington. He had coached PAL football and a Fort Wayne baseball travel league.
He was born March 13, 1961, in Portsmouth, VA. He is survived by his parents, Dallas Heyde and Sheila Hubbert Heyde, both of Warren. He married Chris Forth on June 9, 1990, in Andrews. His wife survives.
Additional survivors include two sons, Jairus Daggett and Ethan Daggett, both of Andrews; a daughter Victoria Lane, of Andrews; three sisters, Rene Eltzroth, of Warren; Stacey (Tom) Kellam, of Liberty Center; and Marsha Graham, of Bluffton; and three brothers, Kirk (Kim) Heyde, of Marion, and Todd Heyde and Lance Heyde, both of Warren.
Calling is Sunday, Aug. 12, 2012, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Glancy-H. Brown and Son Funeral Home, 203 N. Matilda St., Warren. A service will be held on Monday, Aug. 13, 2012, at 11 a.m., with calling one hour prior to the service, at the Hillcrest Church of the Nazarene, 405 E. 1st St., Warren. Rev. Mark Davis will officiate. Interment will follow at the Woodlawn Cemetery, Warren, with military honors conducted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2689, Huntington.
