Lori A. Johnson, 47, of Huntington, IN, died Friday, Aug. 10, 2012, at 1:50 p.m. at her residence.
Mrs. Johnson had worked as a nurse for Miller's Merry Manor, Victory Noll and Community Care, all in Huntington, and most recently at Huntington General Practice. She was a 1983 graduate of Huntington North High school and a 1986 graduate of Ivy Tech, where she received her nursing degree. She was a member of the Union Church, where she was active in the "Sis" group bible study and the "New Life" meal ministry. She was an active participant of the Huntington County Relay for Life and the Francine and Friends early detection of breast cancer organization.
She was born Jan. 15, 1965, in Huntington to Ed and Sue Hacker. Her parents survive.
Additional survivors include a son, Lucas Johnson, of Huntington; two daughters, Lauren Johnson and Larissa Johnson, both of Huntington; a brother, DeWayne Hacker, of Cedar, MN; a sister, Stacie Hacker, of Roanoke; her maternal grandmother, Virginia Holmes, of Huntington, and her paternal grandmother, Clara Hacker, of Huntington.
Calling is Monday, Aug. 13, 2012, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford St., Huntington. A service will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with Rev. Matt Gapinski officiating. There will also be one hour of visitation prior to the service on Tuesday. Interment will be at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Huntington.
