Elsie Belle Cole, 94, of Huntington, IN, died Friday, Aug. 10, 2012, at 11:45 a.m. at the Markle Health & Rehabilitation Center.
Mrs. Cole graduated in 1936 from Central High in Fort Wayne. She worked as a waitress at the Schroeder's restaurant in Huntington during the 1960s. She retired in the fall of 1984 from St. Peter's First Community Church in Huntington, where she worked as a custodian for several years.
She was a member of the Royal Neighbors, the Rebecca Lodge, St. Peter's First Community Church and was also a member of the Red Hat Society.
She was born July 9, 1918, in Fort Wayne to Jesse and Allien Smith Ryder. She married Galen Funderburg in March 1943 in Fort Wayne, and he preceded her in death. She married Max L. Cole in September 1973 in Huntington, and he also preceded her in death.
Survivors include a daughter, Diane (Ken) Hill, of Huntington; a sister, Doris Paurice, of Fort Wayne; two grandchildren, Lisa Hackworth and Craig Hill, both of Huntington; and two great-grandchildren.
Calling is Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012, from 10 a.m. to noon at Bailey-Love Mortuary, with a funeral service to follow at noon. Rev. Craig Cotherman will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Peter's Cemetery, Huntington.
