Dorothy Isabelle Lundahl, 94, of Naples, FL, and having family members in Huntington, IN, died Monday, Aug. 13, 2012, in Naples.
Mrs. Lundahl graduated from Elmhurst High School, Elmhurst, IL, in 1935 and earned a degree in elementary education from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI, in 1940. She was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority and Phi Beta Kappa honor society. She had lived in Moline, IL, and Des Moines, IA, before moving to Naples in 1995. She attended the First Congregational Church in Moline, IL.
She was born Aug. 17, 1918, in Chicago, IL, to Herbert Neville Smythe and Isabelle Mae Meikle Shipman. She married Arthur Brown Lundahl on Oct. 25, 1940, in Chicago, IL. Her husband preceded her in death.
Survivors include a daughter, Ann Elizabeth (Dwight) Ericsson, of Huntington; two sons, Thomas Arthur (Elaine) Lundahl, of Seattle, WA, and David William (Sharon) Lundahl, of Beloit, WI; two grandchildren, Joel Carl Ericsson and Neal Arthur Ericsson; and two great-grandchildren.
The family will hold a private memorial service. Mrs. Lundahl's ashes will be spread in the Gulf of Mexico and Lake Michigan.
