Christine M. Jenkins, 57, of Roanoke, IN, died Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012, at 2:55 p.m. at her residence.

Mrs. Jenkins was assistant clerk-treasurer for the town of Roanoke, a mortgage broker and operated a flower shop.

She was born Aug. 2, 1955, in Birmingham, MI, to Conway "Connie" and Maria Lempio Benson. She married Stephen J. Jenkins on Sept. 11, 1976, in Lima, OH, and he survives. Her mother also survives, in Dunedin, FL.

Additional survivors are two daughters, Mary-Margaret Jenkins, of Fort Wayne, and Elizabeth Marie (Ryan) Tobin, of Roanoke; a brother, Kenneth Benson, of New York, NY; a sister, Arvilla "Belle" Catharine of Dunedin, FL; her mother-in-law, Mary Ellen Jenkins, of Jamestown, OH; a brother-in-law and sister-in law, V. Daniel and Paulette Downing, of Braselton, GA; and a grandson, Adam Blakey Jr.

A gathering to celebrate Mrs. Jenkins' life will be held Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Roanoke Memorial Chapel of Deal-Rice Funeral Homes, 240 Crestwood Drive, Roanoke.
