Eldon B. "Slick" Barker, 78, of Gas City, IN, and having relatives in Andrews, IN, died Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012, at 8:48 p.m.
Mr. Barker retired from Dana, where he worked as a machine operator. He formerly worked at RCA and in his younger years was the delivery man for Webb's Furniture. He was a member of the Dana Sympathy Club and was a United States Navy veteran.
He was born in Marion to Vaughn and Brosella Bond Barker. He married Janet Monroe on April 5, 1958. She survives.
Additional survivors are two daughters, Teressa (Ben) Wilber, of Muncie, and Lori Barker, Gas City; a son, Timothy (Annette) Barker, of Gas City; three sisters, Rose Rollene Crotts and Sarah Goins, both of Bowling Green, KY, and Joyce Diane (John) Lake, of Andrews; two brothers, Kenneth J. (Debbie) Barker, of Gas City, and John (Marlis) Barker, of Shakoppe, MN; and two grandchildren, Heather Cropper and
Jacob Cropper, both of Marion.
Calling is Friday, Aug. 17, 2012, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City A funeral service will be held Saturday, Aug. 18, 2012, at 10 a.m., at the funeral home. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory in Marion.
