Elenora L. Corliss, 68, of Fairmount, IN, and having Huntington, IN connections, died Thursday, Aug. 16, 2012, at Community Hospital in Anderson, IN.

Mrs. Corliss graduated from Warren High School in 1961, and from the former Marion College in 1965. She received her master's from Ball State in 1967. She taught elementary school for 31 years, first at Clayton Brownlee for two years and 29 at Park Elementary, where she taught first, second and sixth grades.

After her retirement in 2006 she volunteered with Gilead Ministries. She was a member of the Indiana State Teachers Association and the National Education Association.

Mrs. Corliss was also a member of the Fairmount United Methodist Church, the Misfit Sunday School Class and the United Methodist Women. She served on the Fairmount Library Board.

She was born Oct. 29, 1943, in Huntington to Walter B. and Berniece Eikenberry Kimmel. She married Stanley W. Corliss on June 5, 1965, and he survives.

Additional survivors include a daughter, Christina L. Rigney; a son, Jeffrey Corliss; and four grandchildren, Drusilla M. (Dru) Corliss, Elizabeth Grace Corliss, James (Jimmy) C. Rigney IV, all of Jonesboro, and Kaiden Michael Corliss, of Fishers.

Calling is Monday, Aug. 20, 2012, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Armes-Hunt Funeral Home, 415 S. Main St., Fairmount. Calling will also be held one hour prior to the service on Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2012, at 10 a.m. at Fairmount United Methodist Church, Walnut and Jefferson Street, Fairmount, with Rev. Amy Covington officiating. Interment will be at Park Cemetery, Fairmount.
