Jacqueline Sue "Jackie" Michel 65, of Fort Wayne, IN, and having family in Huntington, IN, died Friday, Aug. 17, 2012, at 2:47 p.m. at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home in Fort Wayne.
She was born Sept. 28, 1946, in Huntington to Franklin "Curly" and Jo Ann Platt Welch. She married Larry D. Michel on April 3, 1965, in the Mt. Etna United Methodist Church. He preceded her in death on March 8, 2006.
Mrs. Michel graduated from Lancaster High School in 1964. She worked for Yellow Book in the sales department for more than 10 years. She attended the Bethel United Methodist Church in Fort Wayne.
Survivors include her mother, Jo Ann Blood, of Marion; a son, Kirt Michel, of Huntington; two daughters, Kim (Dan) O'Banion, of Huntington, and Kris (Dave) Seiler, of Walls, MS; a brother, Jeffrey (Luz) Welch, of McAllen, TX; and two grandchildren, Morgan O'Banion and Kayleigh Michel.
Calling is Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2012, from 10 a.m. to noon at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 W. Park Drive, Huntington, with a funeral service to follow at noon, with Dale Spaulding officiating. Burial will be in the St. Peter's First Cemetery, Huntington.
Memorials are to Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home, Fort Wayne, or Cancer Services of Huntington County, in care of Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 W. Park Drive, Huntington.
