Mildred E. "Millie" Smith, 91, of Huntington, IN, died Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012, at 5:23 p.m. at Parkview Huntington Hospital.

Ms. Smith graduated from Huntington High School in 1940. She was employed as a sales clerk at Montgomery Ward, in Huntington, for 23 years and later worked at Our Sunday Visitor for 23 years. She retired in 1987. She was a long-time member of the Wednesday Afternoon Ladies' League at Oak Lanes.

She was born June 14, 1921, in Huntington to Jesse and Nellie Bettis Smith.

Calling is Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford St., Huntington. A service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, Sept. 14, 2012, at 11 a.m., with calling one hour prior to the service. Allen Goebbert and Rev. Gary Dilley will officiate. Interment will be at the Markle Cemetery.
