Doris E. Saner

Doris Edna Saner, 85, of Akron, IN, with family members in Huntington, IN, died Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012, at 7:54 a.m. at Greenwood Meadows in Greenwood, where she had resided for four months.

Mrs. Saner graduated from Laketon High School in 1945. She worked at Brian's, printing bomber wires during World War II, and at Heckman Bindery, both in North Manchester. She also worked at Johnson Publishing Co., of Pittsburgh, PA.

She was co-founder of Saner Jewelry, Saner Housing Addition and Tic Toc Trophy Shop, all in Akron. She attended Beaver Dam United Methodist Church, in Akron.

She was born March 19, 1927. She married Loyd F. Saner on June 30, 1947 in Akron. He preceded her in death in 2003.

Mrs. Saner is survived by a son, Dennis (Neena) Saner, of Mooresville; two daughters, Deanna (Mike) Love, of Akron, and Denise (Les) Howe of Huntington; five grandchildren, Eric (Erin) Love and Brian Love, both of Akron; Kevin Howe, of Louisville, KY; Lisa Howe, of Lubbock, TX; and Matthew (Jessica) Howe of Zionsville; and four great grandchildren.

A service will be held on Monday, Sept. 17, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at Earl-Love Funeral Home, 811 E. Rochester St., Akron, with Rev. Butch Troke officiating. Calling is Sunday, Sept. 16, 2012, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in North Manchester.

Preferred memorials are gifts to the Beaver Dam United Methodist Church.
