Ann Isabelle Mahoney Ballard, 89, of Marion, IN, and a native of Huntington County, IN, died Monday, Sept. 10, 2012.
Mrs. Ballard attended Marion College and taught in the Marion Community Schools for 20 years. She was a member of PEO, First United Methodist Church and Farmer's Progressive Club and a founding member of the former Calico Sets square dance club. She was a volunteer at Marion General Hospital for more than 20 years and served as president of the Auxiliary.
She was born Jan. 24, 1923, in Wayne Township, Huntington County. She married Jesse Overman Ballard on Oct. 18, 1942, and he survives.
Additional survivors include a son, Phil; a daughter, Betsy; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Calling is Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion. A service will be held Friday, Sept. 14, 2012, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
Preferred memorials are gifts to Marion General Hospital.
