Judianne Mettler, 67, formerly of Huntington, IN, and now of Avon, IN died Sept. 27, 2012, at 4:07 a.m. at Indiana University Methodist Hospital, in Indianapolis, IN.
Mrs. Mettler graduated from Huntington Catholic High School in 1963 and International Business College in 1964. She retired from Mettler Agency Inc. as treasurer of the corporation.
She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Huntington, and also was a member of St. Susanna Catholic Church, Plainfield. She was also a member of the Rosary Sodality at St. Mary Catholic Church. She served on the boards of the Huntington YMCA, Huntington Memorial Hospital Foundation and the Huntington Public Library. She was a past president of Tri Kappa sorority. She also served a past president of the Tri Kappa Associates chapter, where she held membership.
She was born April 29, 1945, in Huntington to John E. and Helen Jane Showalter Maples Byrd. Her mother survives. She married Patrick J. Mettler on April 30, 1966, and he also survives.
Additional survivors include a son, John (Lyn) Mettler, of Zionsville; a daughter, Emily (Aaron) Stephens, of Avon; a brother, John R. (Mary) Maples, of Indianapolis; and four grandchildren, Grace and Rebecca Stephens and Patrick and Max Mettler.
Calling is Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St., Huntington, with recitation of the Rosary at 5:45 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, Oct. 1, 2012, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 903 N. Jefferson St., Huntington, with Rev. John Pfister and Deacon John Barelli as celebrants. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Huntington.
Preferred memorials are to St. Mary Catholic Church, Huntington, and Brownsburg School Corporation Education Foundation, both in care of McElhaney- Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St., Huntington, IN 46750.
