Mildred J. Craig

Mildred J. Craig, 84, of North Manchester, IN, and having family members in Huntington, IN, died Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012, at 1:20 p.m. at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home, Fort Wayne.

Mrs. Craig graduated from Redmon (IL) High School in 1946. She was a homemaker and provided child care in her home for many years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Elkhart, a former member of the Belles & Beaus Square Dance Club, and a former 4-H leader and Cub Scout den mother. She wintered in Pharr, TX, for 22 years and attended church at the Tip-O-Texas Resort.

She was born Sept. 11, 1928, in Dudley, IL, to John and Cora Galey Reeley. She married Charles V. Craig on July 20, 1947. Her husband survives.

Additional survivors include three daughters, Charlotte (Peter) Ruch, E. Anne (Rod) Ritenour and Trish (Alan) Lauer, all of North Manchester; a brother, Floyd Reeley, of Paris, IL; seven grandchildren, Troy (Rhonda) Custer, Todd (Heather) Custer and Mike Ritenour, all of North Manchester; Angela Custer, of Nashville, TN; Anthony (Crystal) Ritenour, of Louisville, KY; and Jason (Heather) Lauer and Dawn (Seth) Endsley, both of Huntington; and 13 great-grandchildren.

A service was held on Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012, at McKee Mortuary, North Manchester, with Rev. Kurt Stout officiating. Burial was at Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester.
