Frederick Allen "Fritz" Myers, 88, of Goshen, IN, and a native of Bippus, IN, died Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012, at Courtyard Healthcare Center, in Goshen.

Mr. Allen attended South Whitley High School. He was a farmer. He also worked for Farmer's Elevator, South Whitley, for 20 years, retiring in 1989. He was a member of the Collamer Christian Church.

He was born Aug. 8, 1924, in Bippus to Irvin R. and Almeda Zeigler Myers. He married Evelyn M. Bolinger on Aug. 4, 1946, and she survives.

Additional survivors include two daughters, Shirley (George) Dyer and Patty (Garry) Thompson, both of Elkhart; four grandchildren, Shane (Kari) Dyer and Corrine Thompson, both of Elkhart; Jenny (Doug) McGee, of Beijing, China; and Ryan Thompson, of Denver, CO; and five great-grandchildren.

Calling is Friday, Oct. 12, 2012, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., with a service following at 4 p.m., at Smith and Sons Miller Chapel, South Whitley with Rev. David Wagner officiating. Burial will be at South Whitley Cemetery.

Preferred memorials are gifts to Starfish Projects, Goshen, or Collamer Christian Church.
