Pinson P. Hicks

Pinson P. Hicks, 70, of Huntington, IN, died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012, at 5:15 a.m. at St. Joseph Hospital, Fort Wayne.

Mr. Hicks was a machinist and had worked at H.K. Porter and Pulley-Kellam and retired from Orton Crane. He played guitar and sang with bands across Indiana, Ohio and Michigan. He was a life member of Eagles Lodge 823 and an honorary member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2689, Huntington.

He was born Feb. 16, 1942, in Green Cove Springs, FL, to Pearce and Laura Carter Hicks. He married Lois Jane Biddle on March 30, 1963. His wife survives.

Additional survivors include a son, Travis (Kelly) Hicks, of Lancaster; a sister, Annette (Jim) Smiley, of Jacksonville, FL; a brother, Lewis Hicks, of Middleburg, FL; six grandchildren, Tony Hicks, Kristin Briggs, Tabitha Hicks, Tyson Miller, Kate Wilkerson and Emily Wilkerson; and nine great-grandchildren.

Calling is Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Deal-Rice Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel, 338 E. Washington St., Huntington. A service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, Oct. 22, 2012, at 10 a.m., with calling one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Lancaster Cemetery.
