Catherine June Weed, 89, of Huntington, IN, died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012, at 5:30 p.m. at Tipton House, in Huntington.
Mrs. Weed graduated from Urbana High School. She had been employed as a chef at the Heidelberg Restaurant, Huntington, and in management at the Wolf & Dessauer food department. She later worked in the cafeterias at Riverview and Crestview middle schools.
She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Huntington, the Rosary Sodality, Ladies of the Moose Lodge 837 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2689 Auxiliary.
She was born Nov. 30, 1922, in Wabash County to William and Teresa Coughlin Driscoll.. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Eugene Haupert, and her second husband, Robert Weed.
Survivors include two sons, Lawrence (Carolyn) Haupert, of Roanoke, and William Haupert, of Fort Wayne; two daughters, Linda (Charles) Krumanaker, of South Vienna, OH, and Carol (Edward) Musselman, of Pittsboro, NC; a brother, Jerry Driscoll, of Huntington; a sister, Mary Marg
aret Meyer, of Huntington; and 12 grandchildren.
Calling is Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., with recitation of the rosary at 6 p.m., at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St., Huntington. A service will be held on Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 903 N. Jefferson St., Huntington, with Rev. John Pfister officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Huntington.
Preferred memorials are gifts to St. Mary Catholic Church for Masses or to Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home, both in care of McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home.
