Shirley J. Grate, 75, of Fort Wayne, IN, and a native of Andrews, IN, died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012, at her home.

Mrs. Grate had worked at Lincoln Life Insurance for many years before becoming a homemaker.

She was born Aug. 12, 1937, in Andrews to Everett and Rhoda Rittenhouse.

Survivors include a son, Roger, of Fort Wayne; a daughter, Anna, of Fort Wayne; a stepson, Jeff, of Corunna; and a sister, Dorothy, of Sacramento, CA.

Mrs. Grate donated her body to Indiana University for medical research. Burial will be at a later date at Crown Hill Cemetery, Indianapolis.
