Franklin Lopshire, 89, having ties to Huntington, IN, died Monday, Nov. 5, 2012, at his residence at Miller's Merry Manor, Warsaw, IN.

Mr. Lopshire was store manager of Guarantee Auto, in Huntington, for 23 years. He graduated from Central High School, Fort Wayne, in 1940 and served in the United States Army during World War II.

He was born Sept. 3, 1923, in Fort Wayne to Harry Franklin and Agnes Mae Sorgen Lopshire.

Survivors include two sons, Ronald Franklin (Lorna) Lopshire, of Lebanon, OH, and Douglas N. (Margaret) Lopshire, of Warsaw; two sisters, Kathryn M. Vachon, of Little Rock, AR, and Madelyn Jane Knuth, of Fort Wayne; a brother, Harold W. Lopshire, of Fort Wayne; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Calling is Friday, Nov. 9, 2012, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., with a service following at 11 a.m., at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Rd., Warsaw. Rev. Russ Dewell will officiate and military rites will be conducted by active members of the Indiana ARNG Honor Guard. Burial will be at a later date at Harlan Memorial Cemetery, Harlan.
