Richard L. Stinger, 77, of Marion, IN, and a former resident of Huntington, IN, died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, in Indianapolis.

Mr. Stinger was a former resident of the Banquo area. He graduated from Fairmount High School in 1953 and was a member of the First Church of God. He was employed by Anaconda Wire and Cable for 47 years, retiring in 2000.

He was born April 15, 1935, to Aubrey and Evelyn Stinger. He married Elta Mae Shaw on June 6, 1954, at the First Church of God. His wife survives.

Additional survivors include two sons, Lawrence E. (Cathy) Stinger, of Noblesville, and Thomas A. (Debra) Stinger, of Marion; a daughter, Marilyn Sue Moore, of Marion; three brothers, John M. (Patsy) Stinger, of Jonesboro, and Edgar A. (Phyllis) Stinger and Elmer D. (Marlene), Stinger, both of Marion; a sister-in-law, Martha E. Swain, of Marion; and a grandson, A.J. Stinger, of Marion.

A service was held on Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012, at the First Church of God, Marion. Burial was at Grant Memorial Park Cemetery, Marion.

Preferred memorials are gifts to the First Church of God.
