John M. Butcher, 61, of Geneva, IN, and having ties to Huntington County, IN, died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, at 8:30 a.m. at Adams Memorial Hospital, Decatur.
Mr. Butcher graduated from Portland High School and Vincennes University. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a pilot, was a former manager of the Vincennes Airport and retired as a rural mail carrier in Huntington County.
He was born Oct. 19, 1951, in Jay County to Elmo J. and Ruth C. Ineichen Butcher.
Survivors include a brother, Larry E. Butcher, of Greentown; and a sister, Sharon (Byron) Blankenbaker, of Pennville.
Calling is Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., with a service following at 6 p.m., at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home, 100 N. Washington St., Geneva. Family members will officiate. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery, Geneva.
