Imagean Bonner, 86, of Huntington, IN, died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012, at 11:22 p.m. at the Heritage of Huntington.
Mrs. Bonner was a 1943 graduate of West Rock Creek High School. She was a homemaker, and a member of the Markle United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the choir for many years. She worked in a tomato factory and had worked as a telephone operator. She volunteered at Markle Health Care for many years. She also helped her husband on the farm for many years.
She was born March 9, 1926, in Huntington to Bart and Neva First Benson. She married Carl I. Bonner on Dec. 30, 1945, at Markle United Methodist Church. He preceded her in death on March 10, 2012.
Survivors include two sons, Mark Bonner, of Huntington, and Brian Bonner, of Greenwood; three daughters, Darlene Chaffin, of Delta Junction, AK; Linda Beck, of Markle; and Carla Hebert, of Huntington; a brother, Buddy Benson, of Elgin, SC; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Calling is Monday, Dec. 17, 2012, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Markle Chapel, 415 N. Lee St., Markle. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012, at 3: p.m. at the funeral home, with Rev. Steven McPeek officiating. Interment will be at the Star of Hope Cemetery.
