Steven Bartrom, 60, of Huntington, IN, died Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, at 8 a.m. at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.
Mr. Bartrom graduated from Huntington North High School in 1969 and served in Vietnam with the United States Marine Corps. He later worked in tool and die repair at Dekko Stamping, in Garrett. He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2689 and was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, both in Huntington.
He was born Aug. 5, 1952, in Huntington and is survived by his parents, Mark Bartrom, of South Whitley, and Barbara Bartrom, of Huntington. He married Kay MacDonald on Dec. 2, 1991, in Huntington, and she survives.
Additional survivors include two daughters, Michelle (Joel) Newport, of Memphis, TN, and Anna (Thomas) Hobbs, of Huntington; a brother, Bret Bartrom, of Anchorage, AK; and a sister, Kimberly Pinkerton, of Wabash.
Calling is Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St., Huntington. Calling will begin with recitation of the Rosary at 1 p.m. and will be followed by a Veterans of Foreign Wars honor service at 3 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2012, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 903 N. Jefferson St., Huntington, with Rev. John Pfister officiating. Private burial will take place at a later date.
