Scott A. Whitaker, 51, of Warren, IN, died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, at his home.
Mr. Whitaker attended Southwood High School, Wabash, and served in Germany with the United States Army. He was currently employed by H2 Transportation Services, Roanoke, and previously worked for Hiner Transport, Huntington. He was a former member of the Eagles Lodge and American Legion, in Huntington.
He was born Dec. 7, 1961, in Wabash and is survived by his father, Beach Whitaker Jr., and his mother, Martha Harvey Whitaker, both of Wabash. He married Brenda Slusher on July 11, 2008, in Cancun, Mexico, and she survives.
Additional survivors include four sons, Shane (Nycole) Whitaker and Benjamin (Megan) Whitaker, both of Wabash; Chad (Wednesday) Whitaker, of North Manchester; and Jeremy (Brooke) Bowers, of Warren; a daughter, Angelica Bowers, of Wabash; three brothers, Terrell (Maggie) Whitaker, of Ohio; David (Bunny) Whitaker, of Wabash; and Michael (Ande) Whitaker, of South Carolina; two sisters, Virginia (Max) Gaston, of Roann, and Kara (Rick) Shively, of Wabash; and seven grandchildren, Gage Whitaker, Gavyn Whitaker, Maci Whitaker and Myles Holley, all of Wabash; Makayla Whitaker and Braydon Whitaker, both of North Manchester; and Carter Bowers, of Warren.
Calling is Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with a service following at 2 p.m., at Glancy-H. Brown & Son Funeral Home 203 N. Matilda St., Warren. Rev. Dewey Zent will officiate. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery, Bluffton.
