Willetta Naomi Farmer, 82, of Fort Wayne, IN, and having extended family members in Huntington County, IN, died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, in Fort Wayne.
Mrs. Farmer was a former resident of Bluefield, WV. She was co-owner of Owen's and Roland's Service Station and had worked for Bailey Lumber Company, all in War, WV. She had also worked for Coppinger Machinery Company in Bluefield, WV. She was a member of Emanuel Baptist Church in War, WV, and later was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Debbie Snider Circle in Princeton, WV. She was a graduate of Big Creek High School in War, WV.
She was born Oct. 28, 1930, in War, WV, to George Pearl and Bessie Mae West Rane. She married Charles Owen Farmer on July 3, 1965, and he preceded her in death.
Survivors include a stepdaughter, Violet Farmer (John) Cassett, of Ashland, VA; two step-grandchildren, John Owen (Barbara) Cassett and Amy Renee Cassett (Jud) Flag, both of Ashland, VA; and five step-great-grandchildren.
Additional family members include nieces and nephews Sharon Cox (Pete) McCoart, Susan Cox (Lyle) Smith and Leon Cox, all of Huntington.
A service was held on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at the Rowland H. Bailey Funeral Chapel of the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home, Princeton, WV, with Dr. David Dockery officiating. Entombment was at the Grandview Memory Gardens mausoleum in Bluefield, VA.
