Howard Daniel Himes, 76, of Bloomington, IN, and having family members in Huntington, IN, died Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne.

Mr. Himes was a member of the International Union of Bricklayers for 48 years.

He was born Sept. 12, 1936, in Brookville, PA, to Wade Ellsworth and Sarah Elizabeth Beatty Homes. He married Beverly Epperson on Dec. 28, 1968, and she survives.

Additional survivors include two daughters, Carol (Timothy) Whiteman, of Huntington, and Nancy Zoltek; two sons, William (Debbie) Ketzenberger, of New Haven, and Joseph Himes, of California; two sisters, Tina (Frank) Toth, of Tri-Lakes, and Marilyn (Richard) Middendorf, of Jamestown, PA; a brother, Thomas (Ruth) Himes, of Butler, PA; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Calling is Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., with a memorial service at 11 a.m., at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St., Huntington. Dan Schroder will officiate. Private burial will take place at a later date.
