Margaret E. Redding, 92, of Liberty Center, IN, and having ties to Huntington County, IN, died Sunday morning, Jan. 19, 2013, at the Bluffton Regional Medical Center, Bluffton.
Mrs. Redding was a graduate of West Rock Creek High School, Huntington County. She graduated from the Wayne School of Cosmetology, Fort Wayne, in 1939 and operated a beauty shop in her home for more than 50 years. She was a member of the Liberty Center United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and Homemakers Club of Wells County. She was named Homemaker of the Year and, in 2005, was named Working Woman of the Year by the Bluffton Business and Professional Women.
She was born Feb. 1, 1920, in Rock Springs, WY, to Rue and Goldie Feightner Hunnicutt. She married Dale W. Redding on Oct. 6, 1940, in Huntington County. He preceded her in death on Dec. 4, 1984.
Survivors include two sons, Dennis L. Redding, of Peru, and David (Barbara) Redding, of Fort Wayne; two daughters, Dian (Dick) Mynatt, of Liberty Center, and Debra (Phil) Case, of Springfield, MO; a brother, Max (Manya) Hunnicutt, of Lakeside, CA; two sisters, Eva Schlisser, of Marco Island, FL, and Lou Ann (Clarence) Hewes, of Marco Island, FL; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.
Calling is Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Thoma/Rich, Chaney & Lemler Funeral Home, Bluffton. A service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, at 10:30 a.m., with calling one hour prior to the service, at the Liberty Center United Methodist Church. Rev. Devon Cook will officiate. Burial will be at Elm Grove Cemetery, Bluffton.
