Grace Marie Hess, 85, of Huntington, IN, died Monday Jan. 28, 2013, at 8:30 a.m. at her home.
Mrs. Hess was a waitress for 40 years and worked many years at the Show Lounge, in Huntington. She later worked as a cashier at CVS. She attended St. Mary Catholic Church, Huntington, and the Huntington Church of Christ on South Broadway. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary to Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2689.
She was born April 24, 1927, in Columbia City to Herman and Dora Hile Crumpacker. She married Cletus Hess on Nov. 18, 1950, in Huntington. Her husband preceded her in death on Jan. 24, 2003.
Survivors include three daughters, Mary (Daniel) Fisher, Donna Rudicel and Linda (Richard) Decker, all of Huntington; a son, William (Cynthia) Hess, of Huntington; a brother, Donald (Marvel) Crumpacker, of Fort Wayne; a sister, Edna Payne, of Houston, TX; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Calling is Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St., Huntington. A service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, Feb. 1, 2013, at 10 a.m., with calling one hour prior to the service. Rev. Luke Jackson will officiate. Burial will be at Mt Calvary Cemetery.
