Elva J. Rouch

Elva Jean Rouch, 80, of Lagro, IN, and having ties to Huntington, IN, died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, at Miller's Merry Manor, Wabash.

Mrs. Rouch graduated from Urbana High School in 1950. She retired from General Tire, Wabash, where she had worked for 18 years. She had previously worked at Imco, Huntington, for 12 years and at Kroger Egg, Wabash, for 13 years. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Urbana, the American Legion Auxiliary in Wabash and the Women of the Moose in Wabash.

She was born July 27, 1932, in Urbana to Jacob L. and Marion Gaston Bower. She married Wilbert Rouch on Jan. 1, 1953, in Rochester, and he preceded her in death on Feb. 4, 1994.

Survivors include two sons, Richard L. (Jan) Weaver Jr., of Linden, NC, and Anthony M. (Hwa Sun) Weaver of Brownsburg; a stepson, Roger (Selena) Rouch, of Kewanna; a brother, John (Judy) Bower, of Wabash; three sisters, Doris L. (Donald) Bever and Muirel (Charles) Tyson, both of Wabash, and Beatrice Reed, of Kokomo; a half-sister, Kathleen Sullivan, of South Bend; six grandchildren, Alexandra Weaver, of Germany; Earnest Weaver, of South Dakota; James Weaver, of Brownsburg; Charlotte Weaver, of Fayetteville, NC; Jamie (Victor) Rameriz, of Linden, NC, and Marion Smith, of Marion, OH; and five stepgrandchildren, Heather Green, Hayley Rouch and Ryan Rouch, all of Kewanna; Angel Andrews, of Indianapolis; and David Andrews, of Rochester.

Calling is Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Ave., Wabash. A service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, Feb.5, 2013, at 10 a.m., with Rev. Mark Wisniewski officiating. Burial will be at Citizens Cemetery, Rochester.
