LaVerta M. Schwartz, 85, of Bluffton, IN, and having family members in Markle, IN, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at 5:05 p.m. at River Terrace Estates.
Mrs. Schwartz graduated from Lafayette Central High School in 1945 and was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Church of Christ and the Mission Circle at the church.
She was born June 3, 1927, in Jonesboro to Floyd and Nora Froh Oldfield. She married Hershel A. Schwartz on July 1, 1946, in Zanesville. Her husband survives.
Additional survivors include a daughter, Cynthia (James) DeHoff, of Markle; a son, Robert Schwartz, of Warsaw; a sister, Wilma Thompson, of Bluffton; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A service was held on Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at Goodwin-Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel, Bluffton, with Larry Sprinkle officiating Burial was at the Hoverstock Cemetery, Zanesville.
Memorial gifts may be made to the First Church of Christ or Family LifeCare.
