Della Mae Powell, 79, of Fort Wayne, IN, and having family members in Roanoke, IN, died Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, at the Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home, Fort Wayne.
Mrs. Powell had worked for Magnavox for 25 years, retiring in 1993. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary to Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2689, Huntington.
She was born to Lawrence and Mary Coyle Gabbard and is survived by her stepmother, Edna Gabbard. She is also survived by her husband of 62 years, George H. Powell.
Additional survivors include two sons, Richard E. (Ruth) Powell, of Fort Wayne, and Randall E. (Kelly) Powell, of Roanoke; a daughter, Regena J. (Steve) Bunsold, of Fort Wayne; a son-in-law, David Linnemeier Jr., of Arcola; three brothers, Jack Gabbard, Gene (Susie) Gabbard and Jeff (Jackie) Gabbard; a sister, Betty (Lloyd) Walker; seven grandchildren, Zachary Linnemeier, Travis Linnemeier, Robert Powell, Ryan Powell, Raeshelle (Anthony) Cousineau, Brandon Bunsold and Casey Bunsold; and five great-grandchildren.
Calling is Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at D.O. McComb and Sons Covington Knolls funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road, Fort Wayne. A service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013, at 2 p.m., with calling one hour prior to the service. Rev. Kenneth Riden will officiate. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne.
