Philip L. Ogden, 69, of Huntington, IN, died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at 12:30 p.m. at his home.
Mr. Ogden had worked as a locomotive engineer for Norfolk Southern for 35 years, retiring in August, 2003. He graduated from Frankfort High School in 1961 and served ion the United States Army from 1966 to 1968. He attended Faith Community Church of God and was a member of the Norwood Golf Course, American Legion Post 7 and Moose Lodge 837, all in Huntington.
He was born Aug. 19, 1943, in Frankfort to Bert L. and Ruth Elizabeth Rice Ogden. He married Joyce A. Rogers on Sept. 28, 1963, in Frankfort, and she survives.
Additional survivors include two sons, Anthony (Chris) Ogden, of Indianapolis, and Andrew (Erin) Ogden, of Littleton, CO; a brother, Richard (Pat) Ogden, of Kendallville; two sisters, Deborah (Mike) Baker, of Lafayette, and Cathy (Mike) Johnson, of Frankfort; and four grandsons, Lucas Ogden and Jacob Ogden, both of Indianapolis, and Emerson Ogden and Sullivan Ogden, both of Littleton, CO.
Calling is Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford S., Huntington. A service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, at 10 a.m., with Rev. Steven Stull officiating. Burial will be at Kilmore Cemetery, Frankfort, with Rev. Paul Whitaker officiating.
