John A. Mann

John Allen Mann, 63, of Fort Wayne, IN, and a former resident of Huntington, IN, died Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, at 6:10 p.m. at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home, Fort Wayne.

Mr. Mann graduated from Huntington High School in 1968 and earned a bachelor's degree in political science from Indiana-Purdue University, Fort Wayne. He was the chief executive officer of JMA Inc., a company he founded in the mid-1970s, which was involved in marketing, public relations, promotions, restaurant management and entertainment.

Mr. Mann also started a charitable foundation and served on the board of directors for the Fort Wayne Museum of Art, Huntington University PACE Board and the Riley Foundation Northeast Indiana Regional Leadership Committee.

He was born Jan. 3, 1950, in Huntington to Max and Mary Allen Mann. He married Gale Meyers on April 15, 2000, in Fort Wayne. His wife survives.

Additional survivors include a stepson, John Witting, of Indianapolis, and a stepdaughter, Karen Witting, of Los Angeles, CA.

Calling is Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford St., Huntington. A service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, at 10:30 a.m., with calling one hour prior to the service. Rev. Robert Land will officiate. Interment will be at the Markle Cemetery.
