Helen R. Hollenberg, 80, of North Manchester, IN, died Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013, at 7:35 a.m. at the Timbercrest Senior Living Community in North Manchester.
Mrs. Hollenberg was a graduate of Oak Park River Forest High School in Oak Park, IL. She was also a graduate of Manchester University with a bachelor's degree in elementary education. She received her master's degree from the University of Saint Francis. She was president of Fort Wayne Branch of International Reading Association, a member of the Fort Wayne chapter of Association of Childhood Education, past guardian of Fort Wayne Job's Daughter's and a member of Trinity Chapter Order of Eastern Star.
While in Fort Wayne she was a member of the Lincolnshire Church of the Brethren. While living in Florida, she was a member of Englewood United Methodist Church.
She was born Dec. 9, 1932, in Chicago, IL, to Wilbur R. and Margaret Delk Bollinger. She was married to Robert L. Hollenberg on Feb. 5, 1955, in Chicago. Her husband survives.
Additional survivors include two sons, Gene (Pam) Hollenberg, of Nappanee, and Bill (Amy) Hollenberg, of Fort Wayne; a daughter, Cindy Hollenberg, of Mountainair, NM; and six grandchildren.
Calling is Saturday, March 2, 2013, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the Timbercrest Senior Living Community Chapel, 2201 East St., North Manchester. A celebration of life service will be held on March 2, 2013, at 2 p.m. at the chapel, with Rev. Kurt Borgmann and Rev. Karen Eberly officiating.
