David Noel Carmichael, 78, of Huntington, IN, died Sunday, March 3, 2013, at 1 p.m. at his home.
Mr. Carmichael graduated from Huntington Catholic High School in 1953 and served in the United States Army. He was employed by Our Sunday Visitor, Huntington, for 30 years, retiring in 1995 as a computer programmer. He was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Huntington, and a life member of the Knights of Columbus.
He was born Dec. 29, 1934, in Huntington to Eloise Fosselman Carmichael. He married Eileen Ehinger in February 1959, and she preceded him in death in May 1978.
Survivors include two daughters, Sharon (Tony) Adams and Linda Arivett, both of Huntington; four sons, Robert (Melissa) Carmichael, of Andrews; David Carmichael, of Columbia City; and Daniel Carmichael and Andrew (Jennie) Carmichael, both of Huntington; a sister, Shirley Zuber, of Fort Wayne; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Calling is Wednesday, March 6, 2013, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., with recitation of the rosary at 4:45 p.m., at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 W. Park Drive, Huntington. A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2013, at 10 a.m. at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 860 Cherry St., Huntington, with Rev. Ron Rieder officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
