Karl L. Fisher, 93, of Roanoke, IN, died Thursday, March 7, 2013, at Renaissance Village, Fort Wayne.
Mr. Fisher attended Coesse and Arcola schools and joined the Civilian Conservation Corps. He served in Puerto Rico during World War II as a member of the Army Air Corps. He was employed by Fruehauf Trailer for 40 years, retiring in 1982. He was a member of Freuhauf's Quarter Century Club and the Athletic Association. He was also a member of American Legion Post 160, Roanoke.
He was born Jan. 2, 1920, in Cuba, NY, to Elmer H. and Jennie M. Clayton Fisher. He married Agnes M. Koomler in September 1942. She preceded him in death in 1989.
Survivors include a daughter, Susan Langston, of Dunlap, TN; a son, John (Deb) Fisher, of Huntington; five grandchildren, Laurie (Curt) Cashman, of Harlan; Leslie (Riyadh) Alawadi, Lou Ann (Mike) Haddad and Amanda (Steve) Weber, all of Fort Wayne; and Adam (Natalie) Fisher, of Huntington; 11 great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
Calling is Monday, March 11, 2013, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., with a service following at 3 p.m. at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Rd., Fort Wayne.
