M. Bernice Rumple, 94, of Gas City, IN, and having family members in Warren, IN, died Sunday, March 10, 2013, at her home.
Mrs. Rumple was employed by Owens Illinois for 27 years, retiring in 1975. She graduated from Gas City High School in 1936 and was a member of the Golden Emblem Club, First Baptist Church of Gas City and the Gas City Historical Society.
She was born May 23, 1918, in Herbst to Chester and Adelphia Coppock Harris. He married Vern Rumple on May 6, 1939, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 2, 2006.
Survivors include four children, Rhea (John) Dodson, Terry (Peg) Rumple, Lana (David) Pattison and Dee Henson, all of Gas City; a brother-in-law, Walter (Irene) Rumple, of Scottsburg; a sister-in-law, Martha Rumple, of Warren; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
A service will be held on Thursday, March 14, 2013, at 10 a.m. at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main S., Gas City. Rev. Eddie Brown will officiate. Calling is Wednesday, march 13, 2013, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Huntington County.
