Shirley S. Richards, 61, of rural Avilla, IN, and having family members in Huntington, IN, died Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at 9:25 a.m. at her home.
Mrs. Richards was a former resident of Cromwell. She was employed by Kraft Foods in Kendallville and previously worked at Frick's Lumber in Brimfield.
She was born March 28, 1951, in Warsaw, to Floyd R. and Evolyn Harrington Bromley. She married Ronald G. Richards on June 27, 1970, in Cromwell. Her husband survives.
Additional survivors include two daughters, Linda (Joe) Rhodes, of Wolf Lake, and Nancy (Jason) Stanley, of Wolcotville; four brothers, Donald Bromley, of Huntington; William Bromley and Arnold Bromley, both of Cromwell; and Ronald Bromley, of Kentucky; and four grandsons, Jeremy Arnold, Matthew Stanley, Ethan Stanley and Alexander Stanley.
Calling is Friday, March 15, 2013, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Brazzell Funeral Home, Avilla Chapel, 530 N. Main St., Avilla. A service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, March 16, 2013, at 11 a.m., with Rev. Shawn Shepherd officiating. Burial will be at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, near Avilla.
