Neva Jean Joy, 82, of Huntington, died Saturday, March 16, 2013, at her daughter's home.
Mrs. Joy worked for 30 years at Square D in Roanoke and Huntington, retiring in 1983. She was a 1948 graduate of New Hope High school in New Hope, AR, and was a member of the Markle Eastern Star and the TurnPointe Community Church of the Brethren.
She was born Dec. 20, 1930, in New Hope, AR, to James H. and Lora V. Turner Davis. She married Richard "Dick" Joy on July 21, 1950. He preceded her in death on Dec. 29, 2003.
Survivors include a daughter, Pam (Tom) Will and a son, Jim (Susie) Joy, both of Huntington; a brother, James "Junior" (Bea) Davis of Markle; five granddaughters, Kelly (Joe) Ryder, of Roanoke, Kristy (David) Kokoska, of Fishers, Angie (Allen) Bradd, of Douglasville, GA, Kerri (Bret) Landrum, of Huntington and Amy (Kess) Berg, of Chesterfield, MO; 11 great-grandchildren; three step great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
A service will be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at 11 a.m., with calling one hour prior, at the Myers Funeral Home, Markle Chapel, 415 N. Lee St., Markle. Revs. Mike Shroyer and Rick Smalling will officiate.
Internment will be at the Star of Hope Cemetery.
