Sister Carolyn Ortega, OLVM, 94, of Victory Noll, in Huntington, IN, died Monday, March 18, 2013, at Holy Family Heath Care Center at Victory Noll.
She entered the Congregation of Our Lady of Victory Missionary Sisters on Oct. 30, 1947, and made first vows on Aug. 5, 1950. She served in missions in Texas, California and at Victory Noll, and ministered in Oruro, Bolivia, from 1966 until 2006, when she returned to Victory Noll.
She was born July 4, 1918, in Pastura, NM, to Alberto Cristobal Ortega and Maria Carolina Clancey.
A vigil service will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at 7 p.m., with calling one hour prior to the service, at Victory Noll Chapel, 1900 W. Park Drive, Huntington. The Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at 10:30 a.m., with calling one hour prior to Mass, at Victory Noll Memorial Chapel. Rev. Thomas Fahey will preside. Burial will be at Victory Noll Cemetery.
