Barbara A. French

Barbara A. French, 63, of Huntington, IN, died Friday, March 22, 2013, at 1:52 p.m. at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne.

Mrs. French was a 1968 graduate of Huntington High School. She was a press operator at Wabash Magnetics, where she was employed for more than 25 years before retiring in 2000. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Huntington.

She was born Nov. 15, 1949, in Portsmouth, VA, to George and Alta I. Bollhoefer Kiefer. Her mother survives in Huntington.

Additional survivors include a son, Ryan L. (Kim) French, of Huntington; two brothers, Ron (Millie) Kiefer and Vic (Melissa) Kiefer, both of Akron; four sisters, Diana (Ed) Meitzler, Pam (Robert) Carroll and Angela (John) Caley, all of Huntington, and Tammy (Todd) Hauff, of Silver Lake; and two grandchildren, Kienan French and Lucy French, both of Huntington.

The rosary will be recited on Friday, April 5, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 903 N. Jefferson St., Huntington. A funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m., with Rev. John Pfister officiating. A dinner will be held after Mass in the St. Mary school gym. Private burial will be at a later date.
