Desiree Cherice Honkomp, 34, of Huntington, IN, Sunday, March 31, 2013, at 2:05 a.m. at Norwood Health and Rehabilitation Center after a two-year battle with cancer.
Mrs. Honkomp graduated from Huntington North High School in 1996. She was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses at the age of 14. She was a member of the South East congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
She was born Nov. 7, 1978, in Phoenix, AZ, to Edward T. Lewellen and Tami Renee Smith Dular. Her father survives in Dallas, TX, and her mother survives in Round Top, NY. She married Rick Honkomp on Aug. 22, 2008. He also survives.
Additional survivors are a son, Anthony Honkomp; a daughter, Ashley Honkomp; a brother, Benjamin Lewellen, of Longview, TX; and paternal grandparents Kenneth and Lois Lewellen, of El Paso, TX.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 6, 2013, at 5:30 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 6000 Abbott St., Fort Wayne.
